Pain is Temporary, but Quitting Lasts forever!
Mentally, you are stronger than you think.
“Pain is temporary, but quitting lasts forever.” — Lance Armstrong
The point is that any frustration or pain is temporary as long as we keep pushing forward. If we stop pushing, then it will last forever. Eric Thomas, a professional motivational speaker, says a powerful statement that helped me in my past: “Pain only lasts forever if you let it. ”
I’m not saying that physical and chronic pain are not real. There are times when it is logical to quit. But mentally, more than anything else, we can push through more than we realize.
This is not a new concept; Seneca said, “Nothing lasts forever, few things even last for long: all things are susceptible of decay in one way or another; moreover, all that begins also ends.”
- Pain is a short-term sensation.
- An immediate discomfort.
- Quitting is a long-term discomfort with long-term repercussions!
- Either of these patterns will build habits and directly affect your future decisions.
- Pain (any kind) is growth.
- And, Not all pain is good, and quitting is not always bad.
You are stronger than you think — keep going…
